Thousands die, even in Northwest Ohio, because no matter how much wedo or how hard we work, there are not enough resources to save them.

How you can help:
- Adopt your pets and make a lifelong commitment to them.
- Educate others
- Join Planned Pethood
By donating $45, it will spay/neuter one free-roaming cat. In seven months, from March to September, one female cat and her offspring can produce 125 more cats. By spay/neutering one cat, it will stop the breeding cycle and stop 125 kittens from being born into a life of starvation, disease, neglect, attacks from other animals and fear.

Within a few short years, just one male and female cat or dog and their offspring can give birth to thousands more puppies and kittens, so even a single litter dramatically adds to the problem. Spaying and neutering not only reduces the number of dogs and cats killed, it allows those animals to live longer and healthier lives by eliminating or reducing many health problems. There are benefits for their human companions as well, such as less spraying and marking, eliminating the heat cycle in female cats and dogs and pets that are less likely to roam. Society benefits too by decreasing the financial burden of catching, sheltering, euthanizing and disposing of homeless dogs and cats.
Planned Pethood began over 25 years ago when a small group of concerned animal lovers wanted to do something to stop the huge pet overpopulation problem in our area. They began a program of working with local veterinarians to offer low cost spay/neuter. Today we continue that mission.
When you join Planned Pethood, at an associate level or higher, your annual membership entitles you to low cost spay/neuter at any of the participating veterinarians listed below. After you receive your membership card, which can be purchased online or at any of our adoption events, your costs are:
