Banana - ADOPTED
Meet Banana, a sweet, gentle, 7+ year old Chihuahua mix. While she may be shy at first, once she knows she's safe with you all she wants to do is to climb in your lap and get pets. Banana came from a hoarding situation, and despite everything she's been through she is determined to be a happy, loving girl. She is still struggling with her potty training as part of her hoarding past. We’ve had her for over two months and despite trying pee pads, crating, and consistent potty breaks outside, we still are surprised with accidents. This is something that her adopter will need to have the time and patience to work on with her.
For her age she is incredibly agile! She easily jumps up on the couch to sit next to you. Her eyes may be cloudy, but she is not blind and she loves to make eye contact. She is still skittish around everyone, and she does not like to be approached. We have found that meeting her at her level helps her be more comfortable and encourages her to approach on her own.
Banana has been through a lot and needs a patient, gentle, understanding individual who will not rush her into opening up, and who will appreciate her genuine sweetness as she transitions into her new safe, happy life.
