ADOPT A PET

Hi! I’m Sunny! Aptly named because I brighten everyone’s day with my funny sweet self and most adorable little voice. I’m a confident boy who delights my foster daily with somersaults as I run and flip and pounce on strings. As much as I love to play, I also love to snuggle. Nothing would make me happier than to fall asleep on your lap, or on your chest if you’d let me. I actually prefer people to pets—I want you all to myself! So, no other pets please. I would be best in a home without children or with older children (over age 13).
I was found struggling to survive outdoors. Once rescued, I was neutered, fully vaccinated, received parasite meds (they’re long gone now), and even had my teeth cleaned and cared for. While under anesthesia during my neuter surgery and dental cleaning, the vet noticed I had an unusual heartbeat. It turns out I have what 10% of all cats have: hypertropic cardiomyopathy (HCM). Most cats don’t exhibit any symptoms (unlike dogs), and sadly, the first sign of HCM in cats is often fatal. However, in my case, it was caught very early—so early that there is no medication needed at this time. And, it may turn out that it will never progress, so possibly a non-issue. My foster will leave funding at the vet hospital to have another test done to verify the status of his condition (to be completed in a year), so you will not be responsible for that cost. Worst case scenario is that he has the progressive form, and in that case, you can decide whether or not you want to give me monthly medication to help prevent a possible blood clot down the road (vet said it’s inexpensive—my foster can talk to you more about that). But just know, I will live a full life in a loving home. I have so much love to give! Let’s meet, and you’ll see for yourself what a fun, funny and affectionate boy I am! I have instructed my foster to rearrange my cat nap schedule to meet with you anytime at your convenience!
